Ontario Welcomes Over $6.1 Million Manufacturing Investment from Two Companies in Toronto

NeuronicWorks Inc. and BA Folding Cartons Inc. will create 41 new good-paying jobs in Toronto
TORONTO — The Ontario government is welcoming $6,107,127 in new investments from NeuronicWorks Inc. and BA Folding Cartons Inc. to boost local manufacturing capacity and capabilities while creating 41 new, good-paying jobs in Toronto.
The investments were announced today by Michelle Cooper, Member of Provincial Parliament for Eglinton-Lawrence.
“By supporting strategic investments from regional businesses, our government is protecting Ontario’s workers and creating the conditions for a strong, stable, and resilient economy that can weather any storm,” said MPP Cooper. “NeuronicWorks and BA Folding Carton’s investment will support growth and innovation across the local manufacturing sector and create more good-paying jobs for workers and families in Toronto.”
NeuronicWorks, an Ontario-based provider of custom electronic design and manufacturing, is investing $1,475,626 to enhance their production capacity by fully automating its assembly and testing processes, increasing production efficiencies and expanding into new international markets, while creating 30 new good-paying jobs.
“With support from the Ontario Regional Development Program’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness Stream (AMIC), NeuronicWorks Inc. is investing in advanced robotics automation to improve yield, efficiency, consistency, and production quality across our manufacturing operations enabling our team to focus on high-value engineering and complex problem-solving,” said Titu Botos, CEO and Founder of NeuronicWorks Inc. “These investments strengthen Ontario’s advanced manufacturing capacity by building a strong, market-driven manufacturing base that enhances supply-chain resilience, creates skilled jobs in our communities, and supports long-term economic growth,” he said. “As global unbalanced competition becomes ever more intense, continued and strengthened support from the Province will be absolutely vital to ensure that the Canadian manufacturers remain competitive, resilient, and future-ready.”
BA Folding Cartons, a manufacturer of paperboard packaging for food and non-food industries, is investing $4,631,501 to acquire and install a Heidelberg Speedmaster CX104 printing system at its Toronto facility to double sheet production volume, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and drive significant productivity improvements. With their investment, they will create 11 new good-paying jobs.

In support of these investments, the government is providing NeuronicWorks with $221,343 and BA Folding Cartons with $208,417 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness Stream.

Ontario is investing over $230 million through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow while supporting distinct regional priorities. To date, Ontario has supported more than 180 projects through the program, leveraging more than $2.6 billion in new investments and helping to create over 5,500 jobs.

- The government launched the Regional Development Program (RDP) for eastern and southwestern regions of Ontario in November 2019. Through this program, businesses and municipalities can get financial support and guided access to a range of complementary services and supports.
- In 2022, the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) stream of the RDP was launched to support advanced manufacturers across the province. Ontario is now providing additional funds to enhance the AMIC stream that will help more firms with the financial support and tools needed to improve competitiveness, while strengthening essential supply chains.
- The government continues to provide tax support to Ontario manufacturers by continuing to offer the Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit to eligible businesses.
- Additionally, Ontario has launched a new $150 million Ontario Together Trade Fund to assist local businesses in taking advantage of new interprovincial trade opportunities.
