L’Ontario investit 55,8 millions de dollars pour ouvrir la première école de médecine pour médecins de famille

As part of our plan to connect everyone in Ontario to primary care close to home, our government is investing $55.8 million to support the planning and operations of the York University School of Medicine.
As Ontario’s first medical school primarily focused on training family doctors, this investment will train more highly skilled family doctors to increase access to primary care across Ontario. Slated to open in Fall 2028, this new medical school will support 240 undergraduate seats and 293 postgraduate seats each year at full capacity.
Our government is leading the largest expansion of medical education in over a decade, including establishing two new medical schools; the Toronto Metropolitan University Medical School, which welcomed their inaugural cohort last fall, and York University.
