L’Ontario investit 4,6 millions de dollars pour stimuler la production d’isotopes médicaux vitaux à l’Université McMaster
Today, Ministers Nolan Quinn, Stephen Lecce, Vic Fedeli and Sylvia Jones announced our government is investing an additional $4.6 million to increase production of cancer-fighting medical isotopes at the McMaster Nuclear Reactor. This builds on the government’s $18 million investment last year to expand operations at the reactor to 24 hours per day, seven days per week, creating good-paying jobs, accelerating innovative research and delivering cutting-edge treatments.
As the largest facility of its kind in Canada, the McMaster Nuclear Reactor produces 84,000 treatments each year. Our investments have increased the reactor’s research capacity by 300 per cent, ensuring Ontario stays on the cutting edge of innovation, attracts investment, and advances our life sciences sector.
